EYES / Release of pigeons and balloons by the Moors

Ojós paid tribute last Sunday to the Moors expelled from the Ricote Valley in the year 1613. The City Council celebrated the commemoration of the fourth centenary with a series of events that began on Saturday night with the conference ‘Oxós: 150 years after the expulsion of the moriscos’, which was taught by the doctor in geography and history Enrique Pérez Cañamares, and the theater play ‘Cervantes: Echoes of the soul’. A hundred people gathered at this commemoration and in addition to the mayor, Pablo Melgarejo, and councilors of the Corporation came the PSOE deputy Presen Lopez. The mass in memory of the Moriscos gave way to the touch of rapture of the bells of the church and the delivery of bouquets of laurel. The event concluded with the release of balloons and pigeons, and a tasting for those present.
