Betis pulls pride and ties against an Athletic with ten

The expulsion by double yellow of Susaeta at the end of the first part conditioned much the lions that began winning 0-2
Bartra, Canales and a great second part of those of Setién made the rojiblancos finish ‘asking for the hour’
Real Betis rescued a point in a game that at halftime lost 0-2 and in which Athletic Club noticed a lot that played the entire second half with one less for the expulsion of Markel Susaeta, which hindered him to maintain the advantage against an opponent that looked for the comeback until the end.

The visitors made a first 45 minutes very good, both tactical and effective against the rival frame, but in the second asked for the time to at least take the tie to two.

Athletic came to Benito Villmarín to play his first game as a visitor after the one he had planned in Vallecas against Rayo had to postpone his day for deficiencies in the stadium in Madrid.

The Argentine technician Eduardo Berizzo, for this debut outside Bilbao in the present course, put to a predictable eleven, with Raúl García up to help in the pressure to Iñaki Williams after it left in the Biscayan capital to Aritz Aduriz and that Iker Muniain it will be of entrance in the bench.

Quique Setién, meanwhile, returned to rotate a lot compared to the starting team that put on Thursday in Athens against Olympiacos in the Europa League and days before at the Mestalla against Valencia, both games ended with ties to zero.

Joaquín Sánchez, author of the only goal in the first five matches of this season (four of LaLiga and one of the Europa League), repeated the starter, as in Greece, and this time the most advanced was the Paraguayan Tonny Sanabria.

The intention of Berrizo, as he had announced the technician in the previous one, was to harass Betis so that he was not the protagonist with the ball, as Setién preaches, but the Sevillian team also wanted to be faithful to their style, with which a very physical match was seen at the beginning.

In that pulse the first one that won was the Athletic with a shot by Williams after a rejection of the local goal Pau Lopez that became the 0-1 in the minute 7.

The Verdiblanco team broke a magnificent run of four games in a row without conceding goals and had to look with more need than ever the rival goal, and more after Raúl García signed the 0-2 for Athletic (min.18).

The spectacular staging of the Bilbao team had the mystery of knowing how long it could be maintained by the physical wear and tear that it entailed and the suffocating heat.

At the stop for hydration arrived Betis with more control of the ball and the rest with the 0-2, but with a great disadvantage for Athletic, as Markel Susaeta saw in the last sets of the first part two yellow cards and left his team in inferiority.

In the second half, Berizzo delayed Raúl García to cover the gaps on the right that Susaeta had left and logically Betis went in search of the comeback and the path began to go with a goal by Marc Bartra in the 51st minute.

With the 1-2, the Argentine coach did put Ander Capa by Raúl García to defend a result that was beginning to be in danger and more when Setién began to introduce artillery with Cristian Tello or Loren Morón.

Canales, as a reward for their great match, managed a draw in 68, and Betis, with a lot of time ahead, sought with great intensity the third

With Mikel San José in the field, in his 350 official match with Athletic, Berizzo wanted to strengthen himself even more in the rearguard in the final stretch of a clash in which Betis enjoyed good chances for a 3-2 that did not arrive

With a draw for some deserved (Athletic) and for others not (Betis), both sets remain in the table with six points (Bilbao with one game less) as 12th and 13th respectively, still far from their European positions goals .
