The president of the Community, Fernando López Miras, today highlighted the prestige achieved by the Military School of Parachute ‘Méndez Parada’, in its more than seven decades teaching «at the highest level, which have become synonymous with excellence and professionalism for the pride of all Murcia, which we feel is something very much ours «.

López Miras, who gave the inaugural lecture today at the official opening ceremony of the 2018-2019 academic year of this institution «so prestigious and respected inside and outside Spain», recalled that in the last 71 years there have been more than 100,000 students who They have received training in these facilities.

In his speech, López Miras showed his «deep gratitude» for all those moments in which the Armed Forces, and specifically the members of the Air Force, «have collaborated and helped the people of this land when they had to face the worst catastrophes, whether floods, earthquakes or fires, «he said.

He also thanked the «dedication, professionalism and dedication with which our Armed Forces perform daily a vital task for the defense and safeguard of Spain, its freedom and its democratic values». He also had words of remembrance to those military, some of them students of this school, «who gave their lives to defend the others, with which we are in permanent debt and for which any tribute and tribute is little.»

The school opens its doors one more year to the members of the three branches of the Armed Forces and the State Security Corps, «who here receive the best theoretical and practical teaching in a specialty such as parachuting,» said López Miras, who added that «he does so by incorporating more programs and more students with respect to the past year», which he encouraged «to continue honoring the legacy received from previous promotions».

He highlighted the «great capacity for adaptation, growth and specialization of this institution», which he considered «the best skydiving school in Europe in the best land in the world», and highlighted the evolution it has had in terms of material and technical means available in these 70 years. In this regard, he highlighted the outstanding role of the Acrobatic Parachute Patrol of the Air Force (PAPEA) and the Parachute Sappers Squadron (Ezapac), «reason for admiration and pride for all.»
