The mayor inaugurates in the Paseo Sorrento of the residential one themed play area for the little ones, which had been demanded by the neighbors through participatory budgetshe mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, inaugurated yesterday afternoon at the Polígono de Santa Ana a unique children’s playground, with «caramel» street lamps, benches decorated with characters from the magician of oz and some great red shoes by Dorothy, the protagonist of this story. Along with them, several sets of children’s games, some adapted for children with disabilities; a multicolored rubber floor to cushion the irremediable falls of children and traditional games drawn on the pavement, such as the testé or hopscotch, completed the attractions.

Its realization had been requested by residents of the residential through the voting of the participatory budgets that demanded the adaptation of playgrounds in the public spaces of the urbanization to increase the offer of family leisure in the area.

Located in Paseo Sorrento, one of the most central places of the Polygon, where the largest offer of tapas bars and coffee shops are concentrated, has had a budget of 123,842.98 euros.

Dozens of children and girls, along with their parents and grandparents, gathered at the opening, quickly filling the attractions. There was no shortage of animation groups with characters from the Wizard of Oz and dancers, who contributed with the Polygon Conservation Entity.

Castejón was sheltered by all the councilors of the Municipal Government, such as Juan Pedro Torralba, whose department was in charge of executing the work, David Martínez, Carmen Martín, Mercedes García and Manuel Mora; and the president of the Entity, Cayetano García ..

During the inauguration the mayor announced a new investment in the Polígono de Santa Ana, as it will be the conditioning of the Park of the Explorers, currently the largest public park in the municipality, and in which they will invest more than 300,000 euros.
