Football Club Barcelona achieved a long-suffering victory in Eindhoven after winning 2-1 at PSV. The Spanish team did not have his night in defense, match of the season in which he conceded more shots by the opponent (23), but it was enough with two genius of Messipara to take the three points. First after a masterful individual action in the area and then with a rehearsed play that Piqué deflected. Luuk De Jong scored the goal of the honor of Van Bommel’s box that tried until the end but was eliminated from the Champions League. Barça will be in the draw for the first knockout group.

The match was spectacular from the start of the game. PSV, from the first minute, made it clear that despite their practically nil options to get into the knockout stages before the game, they took the match as their fans deserved, as if it were the most important game of the year.

Soon both Hirving Lozano and Gastón Pereiro began to put in serious trouble Ter Stegen, who had to intervene on numerous occasions throughout the first half. First of a direct shot that the German cleared well to corner kick.

On the other side of the pitch, Dembélé, along with Messi, became the most dangerous player in the Barça attack. His speed forced PSV to fold and that cost him more to go against. Even so, the clearest chances remained with the Dutch team. Again Gastón Pereiro sent a shot to the post, warning and making it clear that the game was not going to be placid for Barcelona.

Halfway through the first half, a pair of consecutive corner kicks became the best chances of the Valverde team. First it was Arturo Vidal who finished and then did Lenglet, but both times the home defenders managed to clear the ball practically on the goal line.

However, these occasions did not intimidate a PSV that kept trying. And again could mark Gastón Pereiro, who with everything in favor sent the ball to the clouds before Ter Stegen. It was not as clear as that of Ünder on Tuesday against Courtois, but it was also an occasion that should not have been wasted.

Before the break, PSV was again able to score after two consecutive shots on the same play. Barça suffered a lot back when the break came, which came to Ernesto Valverde’s team.

Already in the second half, Messi joined Dembélé and began to wreak havoc behind PSV Eindhoven. And in just fifteen minutes of the second half in which Barça had dominated much more. The Argentine, after a wall with Dembélé, invented a series of cuts inside the area to finish short and silence the rival fans. Great goal of Messi when the FC Barcelona needed it the most.

And ten minutes later, Piqué sentenced the game. Messi threw a foul and the Catalan central put the leg in the near post to leave without options to the team of Mark Van Bommel, which is eliminated from the Champions League.

However, the Dutch team showed that they would not give up and managed to get into the game through Luuk de Jong. However, although he tried it to the end, Barcelona won the victory to get into the second round as group first while PSV is eliminated from European competitions.
