The Mayor of Archena, Patricia Fernandez, and the Councilor for Culture and Tourism, Mari Carmen Alcolea, have discovered a commemorative plaque in homage to the archenero painter Inocencio Medina Vera, in the place where he was born and lived in the street that bears his name. This act is part of the very broad program that the City began a few days ago and will end just one year to celebrate the centenary of the death of this illustrious local painter.
With the accompaniment of a group of musicians from the Municipal Band of Santa Cecilia and other councilors of the Government Team, as well as neighbors who have also attended this emotional event.
Later, the first municipal councilor gave the first brushstroke on the walls of a plot of land that has been set up for this purpose in the Plaza de España, next to the town hall, and where users of the Day Center of the Llano del Barco will paint a large mural in these walls with motives of the Archenero painter. To end the morning of today, the mayor and councilors moved to the Ramon Centenero Cultural Center, whose exterior walls will be painted a giant mural, also, with motives from Medina Vera. The artist will be Carlos Callizo, doctor in Fine Arts, and was also the one who made the great mural of the La Paz district of Murcia, the largest in Europe. Callizo accompanied Patricia Fernández for the first brushstroke that also took place outside the Casa de la Cultura. Acts all of them that are in the program of the centenary of Medina Vera.
