ÁGUILAS / Ciudadanos asks to use part of the Edusi funds to create a large green area

The formation considers that this great green lung would reinforce the tourist attraction of the town and could be linked to the cycle path that also defends

Ciudadanos Águilas is going to request the City Council to create a large green area in Águilas with a grant of five million euros from the Edusi funds for sustainable, environmental and social urban development. His secretary, Domingo Lopez, considers «important the creation of large green areas in the urban area, meaning large green zone that would allow citizens to practice running without feeling ‘caged’, walk or walk without seeing the other side of the garden, use bicycles and skates with freedom and enjoy with family large trees, water sources, garden areas, playgrounds for children and sports and, why not, some water space «. Citizens defend that these large green areas created with the Edusi funds could be interconnected using the cycle path that Ciudadanos has been defending since 2015, «which is still unfinished and that should completely encircle Águilas, giving continuity and greater value to the whole» .

Francisco Martinez, coordinator of Citizens in the locality, has affirmed that «we consider that the Edusi funds must be well taken advantage of. Having that great green lung will make both the aquilines themselves and our visitors have another attraction beyond a single promenade that, incidentally, lacks shadow making it a sport to use at certain times of the day in summer. risk». In order to make a more social use of these funds, Antonio Barba, head of Municipal Policy, considers that «we have to work on the possibility that the winning companies hire a percentage of workers from among the unemployed who are unemployed, including young people, as older people using, on the one hand, criteria that favor those young people who have not yet been able to access a job after finishing their studies, as well as others, favoring the hiring of those elderly people who are in a precarious situation » . Barba explains that it considers «priority» to give work and work experience to those young people who have finished their studies and are without that possibility, as well as to help older people, using, of course, equitable, fair and transparent selection methods.
