When does spring 2019 begin?

The beginning of spring 2019 in Spain will take place officially this Wednesday, March 20 at 22.58 local time (21.58 hours in the Canary Islands), and will last 92 days and 18 hours until the end of June 21 with the beginning of summer, according to calculations by the National Astronomical Observatory (OAN).

SPRING EQUINOX
The spring equinox marks the beginning of the new season but what exactly is it? By agreement, the start of the seasons is marked by the moment when the Earth is in a certain position in its orbit around the Sun.

In the spring, the two poles of the Earth are at the same distance from the Sun, and only an exact half of the Earth is illuminated. In addition, when this happens, the duration of the day and night practically coincide.

THE START OF SPRING
The beginning of spring changes from one year to the next. This is due to the way in which the duration of the Tietta orbit around the Sun fits into the sequence of leap years.

Of course, the equinox of spring can occur, at most, on three different dates (March 19, 20 and 21) throughout the 21st century, as reported from the OAN. The earliest start will be in 2096 and the later we will live in 2003.

CHANGE OF TIME: THE SUMMER SCHEDULE ARRIVES
With the new station, the time change will come to enter the summer time. Yes, it will be the last weekend of March, as usual.

Thus, at dawn on Saturday 30 to Sunday 31 March, we will have to advance the clocks so that at 02.00 it will be 03.00 h.
