Márquez sent a good part of the race but Lorenzo was on top of the Catalan ten laps to go. The Spaniard materialized the long-awaited overtaking he had been looking for, while Márquez was a little conservative, thinking more about the World Cup than this race.
But it happened that the Catalan did not waste an error of Lorenzo seven laps later. A ‘wash’ of Lorenzo braking in turn 3, something unlike him during this weekend, made him lose the first position in favor of his compatriot. But the Spaniard did not want to leave that way of the Austrian asphalt, so he went back to squeeze the chronometer and alternated with Márquez several overtakings to the limit.
Dovizioso, after having ‘sneaked’ also in the penultimate round, left the battle only for the two Spaniards. And there Lorenzo had more temper, which crossed the final goal in the first place.
