The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia, in collaboration with the Local Police of Cartagena, has developed an investigation that has resulted in the arrest of the three members of a juvenile criminal group dedicated to robbing homes in the Mar Menor area.

After the operation, which is framed in the ‘Plan against theft in homes’, have been clarified four crimes of theft with force in buildings in the town of Los Urrutias Cartagena, although the investigation remains open, so it is not ruled out the involvement of more people and their participation in other criminal acts.

The actions began last Thursday, February 14, when thanks to citizen collaboration, agents were alerted that a group of young people transported on foot a large television and large amount of food products from Los Urrutias to El Algar.

Given the suspicion that the objects transported were of illegal origin, the agents moved to the place indicated by the citizen and located the group of young people who transport a television, more than a hundred food products, watches and various tools likely to have been used to commit robberies.

The agents carried out the pertinent checks and verified that before four houses of a Los Urrutias building had been assaulted and that the objects transported by the group of young people had been stolen in the aforementioned buildings, these being second homes or holiday homes.

Once all the necessary evidence was obtained, the agents detained the three young men as alleged perpetrators of the crime of robbery with force and continued with the corresponding investigation in order to determine if there are more people involved in the crimes now clarified and if they have committed more criminal acts.

During the detention, agents seized about twenty bottles of oil, 60 cans of food, six bottles of drink and a dozen watches, among other effects, which have already been returned to their rightful owners. They also seized several tools that could have been used to commit the robberies.

The Moroccan detainees, aged between 19 and 21 years, living in Cartagena and with a history of similar crimes, the effects recovered and the proceedings ordered have been made available to the Court of Instruction of Cartagena (Murcia).
