The Civil Guard dismantled two greenhouses with 9,000 marijuana plants

 

Five people have been arrested as alleged perpetrators of drug cultivation and drug offenses; and belonging to a criminal organization

6,000 of the plants were at their peak collection and another 3,000 in growth

It is one of the largest plantations of cannabis sativa seized in the Region of Murcia

The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia has developed the operation ‘CARDUMA’, an investigation that has culminated with the seizure of 9,000 marijuana plants in an agricultural farm in San Javier, as well as the dismantling of a criminal organization whose five members have been detained as alleged perpetrators of drug cultivation and drug offenses; and belonging to a criminal organization.

It is one of the largest plantations of cannabis sativa seized in the Region of Murcia.

The investigation began on the first of the month, when the Civil Guard detected the presence of several foreign citizens in a rural area of ​​the municipality of San Javier, where they frequently went, without any supposed occupation.

La Benemérita established several surveillance devices on the suspects that led the researchers to an agricultural farm where there were several greenhouses.

The recognition of the area allowed to discover that a strong odor characteristic of marijuana plants emanated from the place, for which the corresponding court order of entry and registration was requested.

Thus, last Wednesday, August 8, the Civil Guard began the operation aimed at the ocular inspection of the agricultural enclosures where they were found, arranged in two greenhouses of about 3,500 m2 each, 9,000 plants of cannabis sativa of which, Nearly 6,000 were at their peak of flowering and gathering.

The investigation has culminated with the identification of five people, members of a criminal group, who have been arrested as alleged authors of the crimes of cultivation and drug development; and belonging to a criminal organization.

There are five males, of Albanian, Romanian and Spanish nationality, aged between 22 and 47 years. The detainee of Spanish nationality, a resident of Jumilla, has a record of crimes related to drug trafficking.

The CARDUMA operation has allowed the dismantling of a criminal organization dedicated to the intensive cultivation of cannabis sativa plants, in an agricultural farm in the municipality of San Javier, where they carried out the planting and harvesting tasks, in a staggered manner, of the 9,000 plants seized.

The arrested, the drug and the seized effects, as well as the diligences instructed have been made available to the Court of Instruction number 7 of San Javier (Murcia).
