SAN PEDRO DEL PINATAR / The Association of Housewives celebrates its 50th anniversary

The tent of the Fairground hosted the main act of the anniversary of the Association in which a simple tribute was paid to the members of higher and younger age, presidents of the Association and different special mentions
The Association of Housewives consumers and users Virgen de la Piedad, founded on October 17, 1968 by a group of women from Pinar del Rio with the fundamental objective of helping those most in need through charitable actions, celebrated its 50th anniversary this morning in the municipal tent located in the Fairground of San Pedro del Pinatar.

The act was opened by Pablo Meroño, Lieutenant Colonel of the Air Force, linked for more than a decade to the Pinaterense Association, which in his speech told the story of the Association since its foundation.

After him, the mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitation Martinez, pointing out the important involvement of the Association of Housewives in the society of Pinar del Rio, as promoters of the local carnivals and collaborating in activities of solidarity, culture, education, as well as in the Holy Week of the municipality.

Finally, we paid tribute to the youngest member, María Sánchez Sáez, the oldest member, Francisca Sánchez Sánchez and the most active teacher, Pilar de la Osa Ballester, recently awarded at the ‘Premios del Mayor de la Región de Murcia’ 2018. »

In addition, the presidents that over the last 50 years have been at the head of the Association of Housewives consumers and users Virgen de la Piedad, Ramona Martínez López, president from 1968 to 1982, Carmen Llorens Ahuir, who presided, were also honored. the Association from 1982 to 1986, Carmiña García Andreu, in charge of the directive from 1986 to 1987, María del Carmen Pérez Rivera who presided from 1987 to 2008 and Inmaculada Borbolla Trespalacios, president from 2008 to the present who took the floor to thank the work of the previous presidents, and the involvement of the members and partners of the Association, currently around 800, throughout these years.
