«We create spaces so that neighbors can enjoy the outdoors, share hobbies, meet with friends and family and play sports. They are the green lungs of our municipality, but they are also the heart of Murcia, most of our gardens are spaces emblematic that we have all enjoyed with our parents and now we do with our children «José Guillén has highlighted.

In addition, the City Council has built a total of 69 new areas of gerontogimansia, with 350 devices, which encourage sports, also encouraging older people to practice physical exercise, and 46 areas of canine recreation so that animals have a space where Enjoy the outdoors with maximum security.

The 203 new playgrounds have more than 1,000 games. These new spaces are located in the most appropriate areas following technical criteria of accessibility, aesthetics and comfort. In addition, all of them are approved and adapted to European regulations on safety and the tastes of children, with an average of five games per zone.

Many of these new zones have artificial shadows, others of natural shade or mixed systems of shade. The City Council has strengthened in these years the placement of awnings, installing about thirty. These awnings microperforados allow to pass the light but not the rays of the sun, guaranteeing the security of the smallest ones and allowing that these spaces can be enjoyed all the year, also in the months of more heat.

It is expected that this 2019 will increase the number of awnings, meeting the needs and neighborhood requests received by the Consistory, until all the children’s areas of neighborhoods and districts are covered and protected.
