The need to extend the service was moved by Mayor Alicia Jiménez last March
The health center now has 37 places
The Council of Government of the Region of Murcia has approved on Wednesday the granting of three new places for the Center for People with Intellectual Disability of Mazarrón. The need to extend the service provided by the City of Mazarrón was transmitted last March by the mayor, Alicia Jiménez, during a meeting held in municipal offices with the general director of People with Disabilities and Elderly, Ana Guijarro.
In 2017, the health center of Mazarrón added another five places. In total, with this new extension, the Intellectual Disability Day Center has 37 places.
The extension approved this Wednesday amounts to 38,479 euros. Thus, the Murciano Institute of Social Action finances the 37 current positions with a global contribution of 797,808 euros for the 2018 and 2019 annuities.
The main mission of these centers is to provide people with disabilities with technical and specialized support during the day, so that they can develop with greater autonomy the activities of daily life, in an environment close to their residence.
