In one of the categories they gave as a prize a cup to the man and a pot to the woman
The Councilor for Sports, in statements to the newspaper, argues that «the prizes are given based on donations from businesses in the municipality and that all are fair»

The classic San Silvestre of December 31st in Archena was carried out without notable events, at least at the moment. And it is that days after the controversy has arisen due to the publication that Pepa Martínez Cañavate, sister of one of the winners, made yesterday January 3 in his personal Facebook account.

In the same aims to «record that inequality between men and women is the order of the day», because after finishing the race and climb to the podium his sister with the male winner in his category, they were awarded two prizes : a drink for him, and a pot for her.

For her the controversy does not end here, since, according to her story, «the man was greeted with numerous applauses, confetti and his name by the megaphone celebrating his victory while the first woman arrived as a runner without naming her and without any celebration , except for his family. «
