JUMILLA / The Wine Fountain 2018 represents some hands extracting the degree of the grape by traditional system

This night will be inaugurated around 9 pm once the mayor, Juana Guardiola, and Vendimiadores of the Harvest Festival, accompanied by representatives of the rocks, deposit wine in it.
The Wine Fountain 2018, which will be inaugurated tonight, represents some hands squeezing a cluster of Monastrell grapes to extract the grade, the way it was traditionally done. The hands, punished by the hard work of the farmer, move through a hydraulic pump every 30 seconds. The base is formed by classic barrels of wine in barrels and will be 21,000 liters of wine which will be circulating continuously through the fountain until next August 19 the festivities end.

The Wine Fountain is installed in the emblematic Plaza del Rey Don Pedro and it is traditional since 1972 that each year a different model is designed to celebrate the Harvest Festival. The idea of ​​this edition is part of the Councilor for Services, Francisco González, and the work has been carried out by the City Council staff.
