The rector, Alejandro Díaz, and the director of Industriales, Patricio Franco, agree on the benefits that this improvement in rail transport would mean for the university community
The Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT) has requested today, through the mouth of its rector, Alejandro Díaz, and the director of its School of Industrialists, Patricio Franco, a line of Cercanías Murcia-Cartagena to facilitate the transit of university students among the two main cities of the Region.

«We propose the need to have a commuter line with modern trains Murcia-Cartagena that allows us a passenger transport much faster and often travel at most every 50 minutes, maintaining the university bonus», explains Patricio Franco, director of the Industrial School.

«We also stress the need to bet on the development of El Gorguel and a ZAL near Cartagena to improve infrastructure for the transport of goods, as this could allow the revitalization of the economy of our region through the generation of companies of different sectors, which could also provide more jobs for our graduates and therefore could favor the Polytechnic University of Cartagena in attracting students, «he concludes.
