In 2015, Gargol’s body appeared lifeless, as reported by the Saskatoon Starphoenix newspaper, on a road near a landfill in the Canadian town of Saskatoon. Next to his corpse, investigators found a belt, with which he had been strangled. A test that was considered insufficient in his day to find the murderer of the girl, but that has become essential thanks to a Facebook picture.

The friends went out together the night of the disappearance
According to Cheyenne Rose Antoine’s testimony to the police, her best friend and she went to a party on the night of his disappearance. After visiting several bars in the area, Gargol left with a boy, while Antoine returned to his uncle’s house.

The next morning, as Antoine tells, the young woman asked her friend through a Facebook message about her whereabouts: «Where are you? I have not heard from you, I hope you got home right». However, he never got an answer. Hours later, the body of the 18-year-old girl appeared lifeless on the road. The police tried to verify Antonie’s version, but could not.

Antoine confesses to being the killer of Gargol
Unable to verify Antoine’s version, the police tracked their social networks. It was then when they discovered a photograph that turned out to be decisive in the profile of both. A selfi that was posted on the social network hours before the disappearance of Gargol in which the two young women appear before going out to party.

A snapshot that showed the belt that was found next to the victim tied on Antoine’s waist. Although at first she denied being related to the death of her friend, she finally confessed that both girls had drunk, that they had drugged themselves and that they had started a strong argument.

A discussion that ended with Antoine strangling his best friend with the belt. The young woman also recognizes that the message she posted on Facebook was a distraction and that she had verified that she was dead. After her confession, the girl has been sentenced to seven years in prison on charges of voluntary homicide.
