CIEZA / Works begin to rehabilitate 64 public housing units

The works will last for four months and involve an investment of more than 72,000 euros
The Ministry of Development and Infrastructure has begun in Cieza the works to rehabilitate 64 public housing that have a deadline of four months and involve an investment of more than 72,000 euros.

The houses are rented and have a floor area of ​​over 6,600 square meters. Specifically, the action will consist of repairing the drainage and stormwater network, as well as waterproofing roofs and improving common elements of carpentry and access.

This action is part of the area of ​​renewal and urban regeneration (ARRU) Vega del Segura, included in the Housing Plan. These areas of integral action in urban centers have aids to rehabilitate buildings and houses, rebuild previously demolished houses, redevelop or execute relocation programs of population, among other aspects.

The General Director of Territorial Planning, Architecture and Housing, José Antonio Fernández Lladó, oversaw the works today and stressed that, thanks to the plan, the Community will invest 1.5 million euros in improvement works in 477 homes of public promotion under the scheme for rent in the municipalities of Abarán, Alcantarilla, Archena, Blanca, Ceutí, Lorquí, Molina de Segura and Villanueva del Río Segura.

The objective is «to maintain the houses in optimal conditions of habitability to contribute to the well-being of its inhabitants,» said Fernández Lladó.
