CARTAGENA / Fomento tender the works to improve the regional highway that connects Cartagena with the municipality of San Javier

The Ministry of Development and Infrastructure has tendered the improvement works of the regional highway RM-F35, which connects Cartagena with the municipality of San Javier. The action, which covers a length of six kilometers and is valued at 218,000 euros, is included in the Community’s road maintenance program.

The works consist of the sane and reinforcement of the road with the aim of improving the characteristics of the road so that its driving is more comfortable and safe. In addition, the blandones will be repaired, like the one existing at kilometric point 19.3, and the vertical and horizontal signs will be placed.

The general director of Roads, Francisco González Manzanera, emphasized that this action will increase the safety in the displacements that are registered in this way, that ascend to a daily average of 5,130 vehicles, of which 369 are heavy.

He indicated that the visibility and drainage of the road will also be improved thanks to the lining of the ditches with concrete to prevent the appearance of weeds and weeds, as well as accumulations of water and its overflow to the road.

The works also include the repair of the existing metal railing of the Torreciega bridge by rust cleaning and the application of anticorrosive primer and colored enamel.
