The Board of Local Government of Archena, chaired by the Mayor Patricia Fernandez Lopez, has awarded this morning the works of urban planning of the old school Miguel Medina.
The works consist of:
Provide the intersection between Avenida del Carril, Daniel Ayala Avenue and the Carretera del Balneario, a mini roundabout that allows the turns in those three main traffic axes of the population, without the need for traffic lights.
Expand pedestrian spaces and improve accessibility in the vicinity of the old Miguel Medina school building, in the area located on Avenida del Carril.
Creation of a wide open multipurpose esplanade, in a controlled way to the urban road, which can serve as surface parking with more than 85 seats in an area infradotada of this need. This esplanade can be used as a festive venue for various events that, throughout the year, are held on specific dates, with the only need to warn through vertical signage, the dates on which will be enabled for these events.
When the works are finished, the surroundings of the old school Miguel Medina, a central place of our town, will have a more modern image, with more and better accessible spaces for pedestrians, and with a large number of parking spaces, much needed in this area. downtown of our municipality.
