Alberto Miralles (Elche, 1940 – 2004) has been one of the essential names of the independent Spanish theater of the 60s and one of the founders of the Spanish Association of Theater Authors, of which he would later become president.

An idealistic and at the same time ingenuous Christopher Columbus, who dreams of entering history as an illustrious navigator, arrives in Spain with the intention of convincing the Catholic Monarchs to finance their adventure of going to the West Indies. In his delusions he imagines conversing with Marco Polo, the most famous navigator in history, and asks him for advice.

Columbus soon discovers how the interests of the Crown of Castile, the Church, the nobles and merchants revolve around him, all of them determined to take advantage of his proposal, at whatever cost. Comedy tinged with tragedy that reflects the rudeness of the human being for his ego and the conspiracy of power established to destroy those who overshadow him.
