A man enters unconscious in the ICU for a possible heat stroke in Cartagena

A man of about 40 years of age has been transported unconscious this Saturday, at 15.41 hours, to Santa Lucía Hospital after collapsing when he was walking down the street Ciudad de Oran de Cartagena, victim of a possible heat stroke. The toilets of the ambulance that have attended him in the first instance point out that after losing his senses he remained trembling on the road, with a head trauma caused by the fall. As confirmed by health sources, the man is being treated in the Intensive Care Unit, with a reserved prognosis.

If confirmed, it would be the fourth case of heat stroke in the Region in the last week, of which two have died and one is progressing favorably. The first case was that of a worker who died on Tuesday afternoon on the Reguerón highway, when he was carrying out rebar work «under a structure and in shade». The second fatality was a 78-year-old man who worked on Thursday in his garden in the hamlet of Zarandona. More luck has had the third affected, a man of 55 years who is recovering after entering on Friday in very serious condition at the Hospital Reina Sofia of Murcia after suffering a heat stroke in Beniaján.

Murcia is one of the provinces that remain on yellow alert until this Sunday because of the risk of significantly high temperatures, according to the prediction predicted by the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET), with thermometers that could exceed 40 degrees.
